Oregon Chapter of FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered

This local group of the national organization FORCE was recently started by 2 sisters in Oregon. The mission of FORCE is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. See their website for more information.
American Cancer Society
The local chapter of the ACS maintains Cancer Resource Centers and several patient navigators in the Portland area. In addition, wigs are available (often free). Find out more at their website.
Sherie Hildreth Ovarian Cancer Foundation
SHOC is a local organization that raises money to fund ovarian cancer research at OHSU. They hold many fundraisers throughout the year including the Sherie Hildreth Empowerment Walk held the first Saturday in August. See their website for more information.
Camp Mak-A-Dream
Camp Mak-A-Dream, located 65 miles east of Missoula, Montana sponsors two ovarian cancer survivor camps a year. The report from women who have attended is outstanding. The facility is lovely, the women are amazing, and the activities are flexible. The camp is free to everyone; tax-deductible donations can be made to the foundation which subsidizes the camp.
