Meet the people who will make us all Laugh Out Loud (LOL) at OVF2017, October 12th.
Betsy Kauffman, Alix Zimmermann and Compass Oncology's Dr. Jim Gosewehr, MD will take the stage on the 12th, regaling us with their wit, humor and charm, and all for a good cause. Tickets to the O-Vary Funny fundraising event are available online, but not for long; get yours now!
Betsy Kauffman has made a happy and useful comedy career out of growing up in the only Jewish family in Wisconsin and cooking her family a steady supply of tasty gluten and dairy. While not at her day job promoting renewable energy, Betsy co-produces and performs in the Spilt Milk Comedy show, a monthly clean comedy showcase in southwest Portland that has been selling out for five seasons. She has performed at Harvey’s Comedy Club, Secret Society, the All Jane Women’s Comedy festival, multiple libraries, and environmental fundraisers. She is married to musician Jeffrey Kauffman and is the mother of two college-age sons who are growing into nice people despite having clueless parents.
Alix Zimmermann loves doing her part to bring a little sunshine and cheer with her everywhere she goes. Originally from New York, this no-nonsense extravert has a special knack for making new connections feel like old cherished ones. Alix takes great pride in her decade-long involvement with the Rose City Rollers, a local non-profit focused on empowerment through sport and inclusion. She’s worn many hats for them; participating as a skater, coach, board member, emcee and announcer. Alix looks forward to keeping YOUR crowd on the edge of their seats.
