Join us for an introduction to the nourishing impact of mindfulness practice. We will explore the how's and why's mindfulness is such a powerful tool for navigating life's challenges.

Mindfulness can: help relieve stress, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, and alleviate gastrointestinal difficulties.

The evening will include a brief review of the rational, evidence and practices of mindfulness with opportunity to experience and share.

There will be a Q&A segment after the presentation.

About the Presenter:

Kimberly Carson, MPH, C-IAYT, has worked as a mindfulness educator and yoga therapist specializing in the therapeutic use and scientific study of mindfulness and yoga for people with medical challenges for over 20 years. She has taught Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for over two decades, and was a founding member of the Duke Integrative Medicine Center, a part of Duke University Health Systems. She has co-authored dozens of peer-reviewed articles, including the first clinical trials of a mindfulness for couples protocol and the first loving kindness for low back pain intervention.

Kimberly began co-directing national professional trainings for yoga teachers and allied health professionals in 2008 at OHSU, Duke Integrative Medicine, VA Centers, Kripalu and other locations around the country.
